Pen and ink has been used for hundreds of years. Van Gogh did some of my favorite pen and ink drawings. Look at the way he used line to create a feeling of texture and movement!
Students used a picture of a flower, enlarged and cropped it and made a collage with tissue paper. The tissue overlapped in areas and I think the effect was beautiful. The students then used oil piant markers to draw significant lines in their work.

Optical Illusion art was done by artists who wanted to challenge the way a viewer saw the painting. They often wanted the viewer to feel an actual physical response, like dizziness or nausea.Can you imagine? Bridget Riley was a famous Op artist as was M.C.
