These pieces of art were done by my 8th grade students. I taught them 4 different optical illusions and then they chose 2 that they wanted to incorporate into their project. The hand came from a drawing done by E.C.Escher.

Radial Symmetry
Radial Symmetry is what my 7th grade students have been working on. They have used templates to create the symmetry designs. Then they have used their own names and definitions of things they enjoy in different lettering to decorate the project. Radial symmetry can be seen in mosaics and tiles the world over.

Art News in the Spring
Spring is here and all the trees look like impressionist paintings. Their little dots of buds and leaves make the light flash around them in little sparkles. Squint your eyes and see if the look of the tree changes. The light is longer in the day now and after dinner it is beautiful to watch the sky change. These are paintings by Vincent Van Gogh.
